Chapuis & Chapuis
Burgundy, France

It is in the heart of the village of Pommard, in 2009, that the two brothers Romain and Jean-Guillaume Chapuis combine their skills to create the wines that they have dreamed of for a long time. With only a few vineyards, the two brothers also buy freshly harvested grapes from certified organic winemakers in the region.

Obviously the choice in this area is crucial, since it is impossible to make good wine without good grapes. Firstly the vine is carefully studied before being chosen. Everything is considered: its sanitary state, its soil, its exposure, the age and the variety of the plant.

Particular care is taken in the development of their wines. Indeed, the Chapuis only work with organic grapes. Romain, thanks to his experience of ""flying winemaker"" (Australia, New Zealand, Lebanon, Bordeaux, Côte de Rhône, Alsace and of course Burgundy), is the conductor during vinification. He uses whole bunches of grapes, and only indigenous yeasts are used depending on the vintages, he sometimes chooses to practise carbonic maceration without addition of sulfur making wine we label ""natures"".

The Chapuis brothers produce white wines under these various appellations: Aligoté, Bourgogne, Hautes Côtes de Beaune, Rully and Marsannay. The red wines fall under the appellations of: Bourgogne, Chorey-les Beaune, Savigny les Beaune, Santenay, Côte de Nuit Village, Pernand Vergelesse, Volnay and Mercurey 1er Cru L’Évêque.
