Domaine Chapelle
Burgundy, France

Domaine Chapelle is a family-owned estate that has been passed on for four generations. In 1923, they were the first producers of the Santenay region to botte their wine rather than selling it in bulk to the local wine cooperative as it was the tradition at the time. Today, the Chapelle family owns 20 hectares of vines spread in the prestigeous sub-regions of Côtes de Nuits and Côtes de Beaune, allowing them to offer an impressive range of red wines and white wines of great quality. The year 2002 marked the arrival of Yannick Jacrot as vineyard manager. For him, the transition to organic agriculture was unevitable. Upon his arrival, he conducted some organic experimentation by converting certain parcels. In 2006, he proceeded to convert the entire vineyard. By 2009, the wines were officially certified organic by Ecocert. Jacrot had previously acquired organic farming experience working with Domaine Jean-Jacques Confuron and Domaine de la Pousse D'or.

In the cellar, natural yeasts are responsible for the fermentation and the use of sulfites is reduced to a minimum. The grape juice is vinified in vats or barrels, depending on the type of wine.

Domaine Chapelle produces wines of several prestigious appellations: Premier Crus of Nuits-St-Georges, Aloxe-Corton, Chassagne-Montrachet, Santenay and regional wines such as the Hautes-Cotes de Beaune and Bourgogne Aligoté. 90% of the wine produced is red.
