Dario Prinčič
Friuli Venezia Giulia, Italy

Founded in 1993, the vineyard of Dario Prinčič is located in Goriza in Friuli, at the foot of the mountains on the the border with Slovenia. Dario's immediate neighbors are Josko Gravner and Stanislao Radikon, two other great names in the maceration wine world. The biodynamic estate, has 8 hectares of Ribolla Gialla vines, Sauvignon Blanc, Pinot Grigio, Chardonnay, Tocai Friulano, Merlot and Cabernet Sauvignon. Dario has an immense respect for nature and its vines, they are all harvested by hand with the greatest care.

The great wines produced by Dario Prinčič are done with maceration. “Orange wines” are, in fact, the product of a long maceration process of white grapes in contact with their skins. At Dario, winemaking is naturally achieved with native yeasts, without filtration or fining, and little to no sulfites are added before bottling. For the sake of quality, Dario produces only 4000 bottles annually.

Dario Prinčič's wines now have an international reputation. Real wines of gastronomy that are dedicated to the possibility of prolonged aging. The philosophy of Dario will continue to live on fortunately through his successors who will eventually take over the running of the estate.
