Alessandro Villa Job is passionate about the vineyard, but also about the relationship between humans and the earth. He likes to say that wine is not just a product, but rather that it is a reflection of the winegrower's ideas and passion.
Before taking over the reins of the family vineyard, Alessandro traveled through his favorite wine-growing regions of Europe, to meet, work and learn from his peers. Following his travels, he returned to settle in his native Friuli, richer from his experiences and his apprenticeships. Since then he combines the knowledge he has acquired with local traditions.
The Villa Job estate is located in Zugliano, in the heart of Friuli and covers 6.5 hectares of vineyards. The white varietals grown are; Pinot Grigio, Ribolla Gialla, Tocai, Malvasia, Pinot Blanc, Sauvignon Blanc and Riesling. The red varietals are Refosco and Schioppetino. Although the vineyard has never been touched by chemicals, the entire farm was certified organic only in 1985 by Alessandro's grandfather. In 2013, the young winemaker decided to push the process further and converted agricultural practices to biodynamics. The wines are produced naturally, some wines undergo a slight addition of sulfites at the bottling stage, and nothing else.
