Domaine Bergeville
Quebec, Canada

North Hatley, located in the Eastern Townships, is recognized as one of the most beautiful villages in Quebec. Passion and a little madness led the couple Marc Théberge and Eve Rainville to settle in 2008, and to begin the project of a lifetime of producing their own wine.

Neither of them had studied in this field, so they decided to travel and to visit different vineyards, explore, discover and get a better understanding of the process. The duo returned with innovative ideas, much knowledge and especially the clear philosophy to safeguard the environment and the terroir through minimal intervention.
The winemakers invested themselves entirely in their dream: from the clearing of the land, to the planting of the vines, to the construction of the winery.

Between 2009 and 2013, they planted 2 hectares of hybrid grape varieties adapted to Quebec's climate such as Saint-Pépin, Acadie Blanc, Frontenac, Marquette, Radisson, and Saint-Croix.

In order to stand out from the crowd, they chose to focus exclusively on sparkling wines and to become a leader for bubbles in Quebec. They work biodynamically with the lunar calendar cycles and with respect for microorganisms present in the soil. For vinification they use the traditional method for achieving effervescence. Bergeville is one of the few estates in Quebec to be certified organic and biodynamic. Their exceptional sparkling wines will leave no one indifferent.
